Dental Implants in Warsaw
Procedure Description
Implantation is a straightforward and painless procedure involving the placement of an implant into the jawbone’s bone tissue. The implant is a titanium rod with threads that is inserted into the bone, replacing the tooth root and serving as a support for a crown, bridge, or prosthesis.
If you’re missing even a single tooth, it’s important to consider implantation as soon as possible. After the removal of a tooth, the process of bone tissue atrophy begins at the site of the missing tooth, progressing over time and resulting in decreasing bone volume. Each year, the possibility of implant placement without additional surgical procedures diminishes.
Wondering whether to choose an implant or a bridge? Read about it in our blog.
Indications:
– Missing one or more teeth – Complete absence of teeth
Contraindications:
– Systemic diseases (malignant diseases, blood disorders, diabetes mellitus, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency states, osteoporosis, etc.) – Age under 18 years – Allergy to anesthetics – Poor oral hygiene – Difficulty in opening the mouth
Advantages of implantation:
– The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is easily tolerated – Adjacent teeth remain unaffected
Unlike bridgework and removable prostheses
– Excellent aesthetic result, indistinguishable from natural teeth – Full restoration of function – Easy maintenance – Long service life (on average 25 years)
Types of implantation:
- Two-stage method (standard method): This method is most commonly used. The crown is placed 3-8 months after the implantation surgery.
- Immediate implantation: The implant is inserted into the socket immediately after tooth extraction. This method has limited indications and is mainly used for the front teeth where rapid aesthetic restoration is crucial.
- All-on-4 and All-on-6: These types of implantation are performed in cases of complete tooth loss. In this method, 6-8 implants are required for better stability of the future prosthesis in the upper jaw (All-on-6 protocol), while only 4 implants are needed in the lower jaw (All-on-4).
