Recovery After Wisdom Tooth Extraction: 6 “Dos and Don’ts”

Wisdom tooth extraction is a procedure that causes concern for most people. However, there’s no need to worry: we’ve prepared life hacks to help speed up recovery after the procedure.

Recovery after wisdom tooth extraction is an important stage that requires careful attention and care. Don’t hesitate to seek consultation and assistance from LAMA specialists to ensure maximum comfort and successful healing.

1. Rest and Avoid Physical Strain

After wisdom tooth extraction, it’s important to give your body time to heal. Avoid active physical exercises and strain to prevent potential complications and expedite the healing process.

2. Follow the Doctor’s Instructions

Your LAMA dentist will provide you with specific instructions for post-wisdom tooth extraction care. It’s important to follow these recommendations, including proper medication intake, wound care, and regular follow-up visits.

3. Use Ice

During the first 2-3 hours after wisdom tooth extraction, apply a cold compress to reduce tissue swelling and alleviate pain. Wrap the ice pack in a towel and apply the compress for no longer than 15 minutes.

4. Maintain Oral Hygiene

Continue oral hygiene practices but avoid excessive rinsing and touching the wound area with your tongue. Use a soft toothbrush and gently clean the teeth around the wound.

5. Soft Diet

In the first few days after the procedure, avoid hard and sharp foods to avoid irritating the wound and expedite the healing process.

6. Seek Assistance if Necessary
